You can permanently delete your TrailArk account and all associated data at any time. Deletion is irreversible.
Option 1 — Delete in the app (recommended)
- Open TrailArk and go to Profile (the avatar in the top corner).
- Scroll to Account and tap Delete account.
- Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete.
Once you confirm by typing DELETE, your account and associated data are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered — this is immediate and irreversible, and you're signed out.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you've uninstalled the app or can't sign in, email us from the address registered to your account:
Send "Delete my account" to support@trailarklabs.com from your account email.
We'll verify your request and delete your account within 30 days (typically within 7), consistent with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted we permanently remove:
- your profile and login details (email, name, date of birth, gender);
- trips you own, along with their itineraries, stops, stays and routes;
- your photos and videos (memories), and the files behind them;
- your expenses, splits and settlements;
- your chat messages, connections and buddy posts; and
- your registered push-notification devices.
What may remain
Content you contributed to other people's trips that still exist may remain part of those shared trips. We do not keep your personal data after deletion except where the law requires — for example, limited records needed for tax, legal or fraud-prevention obligations, which are kept only as long as the law mandates and then securely deleted. Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on a rolling basis, typically within 30 days.
